Howdy Folks,
Summer in Maine, yea HA!, the outta statahs have traffic in full swing and
there are great events happening all over the place. Still, it is worth the
struggle to get where the happenings are... Please note the special dance
this Saturday in Damariscotta, right off Rt 1, but no doubt worth it..
Our daughter Alima is walking a bit now, though her escape
crawl is much much faster. She can spot an opportunity to zip away pretty
quick. Always interested in the contents of boxes she can hear the fridge
open 2 rooms away and the dishwasher is so far uncharted territory but not
for lack of trying.
Nothing in reach is safe and at her age the world is an appetizer.
Folks have said we need to baby proof, but it is too late, one got in. Instead
we are building a new house, and putting nothing in it that cannot be safely
eaten by a toddler.
Well, not quite, but maybe it will certainly be less cluttered than our place
now.
On Saturday July 12th (rain date July 13th) ALL HELP IS
WELCOME! We will be building an organic dance floor. Meant for use at Ossipee
Valley Bluegrass Festival in Cornish and then at Maine Fiddle Camp in Monteville.
This work party is to take place from 9ish to 6ish here at 16 Elmwood Rd in
Pownal, email me for details.
Skills sets needed: Measuring, cutting, gluing & screwing. Makers of refreshments
also needed.
Afterwards folks could beat feet for the potluck & contradance in North
Yarmouth or in Farmington or where ever...
This floor will be available for use by the community as well. Many folks
have contributed their time already in construction ideas and many have provided
cash donations (thank you T. & C.) as well. If you wish to buy a plank
($6) or an entire panel ($50) send a check to the Maine Traditional Music
Assoc. Doug Protsik, 116 Pleasant Cove Drive, Woolwich ME, 04579
If you do donate & wish, you may wood burn your name or a message at the
edge of the floor...
Don't forget, this time of year at many dances fans are welcome, and not just the stomping cheering kind...
Be well, Jeff
